Dunton Village

What age can my child start pre-school?

We take children from 2 years onwards.  To cater for our younger children we offer a two hour session if you feel they may be a little young for a full three hour slot.

Does my child have to be toilet trained?

No. We are happy to take children in nappies and will support you when it comes time to toilet train.

What sort of clothing should my child wear?

You can purchase a uniform consisting of a polo shirt and jersey when you enrol your child.  This is not compulsory.  If you chose not to buy a uniform please send your child in old clothes as spills do happen sometimes.

In the winter you will need to provide wellingtons and a warm, wet weather coat as we encourage the children to play outside for at least part of the session.  In summer you will need to provide a hat and sunscreen.  Please make sure all clothing and items are named.

My child will not go anywhere without their comforter, can they take it to pre-school?

Of course.  Children may bring any comforter that makes them feel secure and we will ensure it is safely stored away while they are engaged in play.

My child has been sick and has a temperature, can I send them to pre-school?

No.  In order to prevent the spread of sickness please keep your child at home for 48 hours after they have been sick.

Do you cater for special needs children?

We welcome all children and we have staff in both the pre-school and the Boomerang Club who are trained to support children with special needs.  We also promote Makaton signing for all children.
